Most things are better in Hawaii. The beaches, the poke, the pineapple, the breeze, the coffee.
And the national anthem.
I can assure you you have never seen the Star-Spangled Banner performed like this before. pic.twitter.com/Rc8eO9uPid

Now look I know there’s going to be a lot of teeth gnashing over changing the tune to the anthem and all that, it’s a touchy subject right now, everybody’s still on edge because of the Colin Kaepernick protests, even though NFL players aren’t really kneeling all that much anymore but can we maybe just come together this once to —
Oh, wait. What’s this?
normally not a fan of singers rebooting the national anthem but this was in Hawaii and was tastefully done Hawaiin style https://t.co/usot9DsHOy

Thanks, James.
This performer, by the way, is Willie K., a man who very often has the words “guitar virtuoso” appear somewhere near his name. He has been fighting lung cancer this year.
Popular Hawaiian musician Willie K. will make a special appearance with the UH Marching Band during halftime of Saturday's #HawaiiFB game. He will perform his catchy fun loving Katchi Katchi Music Makawao as well as the pre-game national anthem and Hawai'i Pono'ī. pic.twitter.com/BR2UIpkHHu
